Overall Rating: 9.7
|The packing cubes have a very clean and professional aesthetic while remaining fun and laid back. Branding on the cubes is minimal and with 5 color combinations and the full graphic option there is sure to be a set that matches your style and luggage.|
|The beauty in these cubes is the simplicity of design which offers so few potential breaking points while perfectly performing its function of dividing, organizing and compressing your gear. They’re incredibly lightweight, easy to grab and reliable.|
|These cubes are so well designed, and manufactured with high quality materials that the price for a set of 6 cubes (carry on or checked bag) is incredibly attractive. These cubes will happily tackle years of adventures and the price point makes them a travel must-have.|
Pros & Cons
|Like all good packing cubes, Tripped Travel compression cubes help you keep your gear organized, separated, and allows you to pack more into a smaller space by compressing bulky items.||The water resistant ripstop nylon used for the bags is thin and lightweight. We have no concerns with the durability of the material but it is thin so if items aren’t packed in the cube efficiently they will jut out at odd angles.|
|Unlike other compression packing cubes that feature a vacuum or air release valve, Tripped packing cubes are designed with a simple double zipper compression system which is incredibly lightweight, has no clear breakpoint and requires no other components.||The compression system in these cubes is so effective that you can pack a significant amount more clothing and gear than normal, tempting you to bring more than you actually need and weighing down your pack.|
|The packing cubes come in a set of 6 with cubes of different sizes for different items. You can mix and match the cubes to bring exactly what you need on any trip.||We rarely use the Slim Tube sized cube as it offers no compression so we tend to swap it out for a dedicated electronics organizer instead.|
Who are Tripped Travel Compression Packing Cubes Ideal For?
A set of Tripped Travel Compression Packing Cubes is ideal for just about any traveler and just about any trip. If you’re looking for space savings to fit a bit more into your carry on or to travel in a smaller bag, the double zipper compression design will reduce the volume of your packed contents by compressing the air out of the cube. If you like to live out of your suitcase, these packing cubes can also significantly improve your organization allowing you to pack for separate days, occasions or uses in separate cubes all while keeping your clean and dirty clothes separated.
Whether you’re an extremely light packer, or can’t decide what to leave at home, the carry on and checked bag sets provide a range of sizes for the cubes, making it easy to select exactly what you need for each trip.
The double zipper design makes them extremely easy to use and keep clean as there are no delicate or breakable components. Plus, they come in 5 color combinations or the bright travel graphic design (our favorite) to match any style!

Tripped Compression Cubes Review
Tripped Travel Gear Compression Cubes are a simple and elegant solution for travelers looking for improved organization and space savings.
Every set of Tripped Travel Compression Packing Cubes is made from ripstop water resistant fabric that makes them incredibly durable, lightweight and machine washable. Additionally, the water-resistant fabric creates a barrier in your pack to protect gear and clothing from spills that might happen in transit.
The breaking point of most packing cubes are the zippers, but Tripped Travel compression cubes feature double stitched compression zippers and reinforced zipper stops in order to make sure they’re ready for years of adventures.
All of the compression cubes also feature a useful grab handle making them easy to slide in and out of your pack or carry solo.
Breakdown of Individual Cubes
The Carry On and Checked Bag sets of Tripped Travel Packing Cubes contain different combinations of each of the following cubes.
Small Cubes - These cubes are roughly 10" long and 7" wide. When packing a carry-on, these cubes will see lots of use as they are large enough to fit a significant amount of clothing while still compressing down into a size that is easy to fit into small spaces in your backpack or suitcase. Even when using a checked bag, these cubes are great for packing underwear, socks, or sleepwear.
Large Cubes - These cubes are roughly 14" long and 10" wide. This cube is an auto include for just about all trips. When packing a carry-on, these cubes will carry the bulk of your clothing including shirts, pants, shorts, dresses, etc. When packing a checked bag, you may want to use this cube for underwear, socks, sleepwear, etc. in lieu of the small cube in order to fit a bit more clothing for a longer trip. When compressed, this cube is typically a great fit for the main compartment of a backpack, and when packed correctly, most travel backpacks can fit 2 of these in the main compartment 1 in front of the other.
Extra Large Cubes - These cubes are 16" long and 12" wide. When heading out for longer trips that require a checked bag, these larger cubes allow for bulk storage of your primary clothing like shirts, pants, shorts, etc. Due to their length, the extra large cubes are rarely used with travel backpacks, but may still be a decent option for a carry-on suitcase or duffel bag. When fully packed and compressed, these cubes can still take up a chunk of space and can be very dense and heavy. Take care to pack these cubes appropriately for weight distribution and spacing within your pack.
Laundry/Shoe Bag - This cube is roughly 18" long and 13.5" wide. It is a typical drawstring style bag and does not have any compression zippers. This cube is used on just about every trip for either shoes or to keep dirty laundry separate from clean clothes.
Slim Tube - This cube is roughly 12.5" long, 3.5" wide and 3.5” deep. This is the cube used the least often. A small pair of shoes, electronics, snacks or other miscellaneous items are a good fit for this cube, although usually not all together. Due to its shape, this cube may be the perfect fit for the remaining space in your pack, allowing you to organize all of your miscellaneous items and fit them nicely into a normally awkward space. Of note, this cube does not have compression zippers.
Testing & Ownership
We’ve been testing and using the Tripped Travel Compression Packing Cubes on just about every trip we’ve been on in the last 12 months. After a year there are no rips, no catches, no discoloration, no odor. These cubes show virtually no sign of wear and there is no indication that a point of failure is anywhere close to the horizon.
The simplicity of these cubes is their strongest asset as they do not have a ton of potential break points. The one potential break point, the zippers, have clearly been prioritized to ensure reliability and durability. When the zippers do catch, which is very rare, the thin ripstop fabric easily zips back out and shows no sign of damage.
Speaking of the ripstop fabric, minimalism is again the strong point. The fabric is thin and ultra-lightweight, but it is incredibly nonabrasive, allowing the cubes to slide in and out of your pack easily. You never have to worry about the cube snagging on anything like a bag’s zipper or a dresser drawer.
The compression on these cubes is also fantastic, reducing bulky clothing down into the smallest possible volume. I can easily fit 2 to 3 times as much into the same backpack using the compression cubes as I could without them. Plus they make it easy to balance the weight in a way that makes the pack comfortable to carry.
An absolute travel must-have. Tripped Travel Compression cubes offer all the fantastic benefits of packing cubes including improved organization, space saving compression, and smarter packing while offering unmatched quality and value. These cubes are designed and manufactured to a higher standard while maintaining an amazing price point for an entire set of compression packing cubes.
